Dispersed Sites

During World War II, the area surrounding RAF Burtonwood was dotted with numerous dispersed sites used for aircraft storage, ammunition dumps, fuel depots, and personnel accommodation. These satellite locations were essential for spreading out the massive quantities of supplies and equipment that passed through the Burtonwood complex, reducing the risk from enemy bombing raids.
